Our Friends Dog Rescue

There's a rescue in Romania called Prietenii Nostri 'Our Friends' Dog Rescue, which is at absolute CRISIS POINT. Teodora Ristea founded the shelter with her daughter, Gratiela in 2005. Sadly in February 2012 Teodora lost her fight for life.

As far as I can understand, the land the rescue was using was on some type of lease, but now The Mayor wants the land back, and the dogs must go! The rescue have found a piece of land that they can purchase, and this will cost them around £16,500 (taking into account legal fees and allowing some money for rates/water etc)

If the land is not bought, the dogs will go to the 'killing fields'. Be under no illusion, this is not euthanasia. The dogs are either bludgeoned to death, or locked up without food and water and starve to death, or soaked in water and taken to an electric fence.
 There are between 300-500 dogs which will suffer this fate if funds are not found. 'Our Friends' is a non-profit organisation and no money is taken for administration. They take dogs from the killing pounds and directly off the streets.

We Help Any Dog have been moved by the plight of this rescue and our view is that a dog in need is a dog in need, no matter where in the world it is. And there are 500 innocent dogs who really need our help right now. This is URGENT, the dogs only have until the beginning of June.

- WHAD have arranged a group Dog Walk at Minnis Bay in Birchington, Kent for the 13th May at 2pm, with each dog owner donating a minimum of £1 per dog. These events are always a great way to raise money as well as give your dog (and you!) a fun few hours. Click here to see more details: Dog Walk
